I was one of the Swilfolk who waved at you across the room this past weekend, and unfortunately didn't get around to thanking you for this entry. I picked up Thirteenth Night entirely by chance a few years ago (based first on the bright primary colors of the paperback edition of the time, then on that basis of "this blurb sounds amusing") and I've been enjoying the series. I hadn't realized a new one was out, but now I have my copy packed and ready for vacation.

I was thrilled to see someone promoting these marvelous books. I've always loved period mysteries, and Mr. Gordon's approach is fresh, witty and stylish; a welcome relief from some of the newer writers who have jumped into this field because they think they can sell to people who miss Brother Cadfael or can't wait for the next Sister Frevisse or Sister Fidelma.

Count me among the fans of Alan's work. I started with THIRTEENTH NIGHT in the original edition, but find every excuse I can to buy Jim's reprint for other people, and to push the book. And I'm first in line when a new one is released. (THE MONEYLENDER OF TOLOUSE just came out!)

And just FYI-Alan has a story in WOLFSBANE AND MISTLETOE, the forthcoming anthology I co-edited with Charlaine Harris. It's not = jesters--it is, in fact, werewolves--but it's awfully good.

Have read and enjoyed all his books. CJ Sansom's Shardlake series is being produced by the BBC. I hope Gordon's books are produced as well.
